The League Champions of Tanzania, Young Africans, have spoilt the party
by beating eight time African champions Al Ahly of Egypt 1-0 in the
first leg of the CAF Champions League tie in Dar es Salaam.
With everyone expecting the Egyptian giants to run havoc, it was the
home team's skipper Nadir Haroub who netted the crucial goal in the 82nd
minute.
Young Africans played with passion and confidence and fully deserved their winning goal late in the game.
Al Ahly might have recently won the the Africa Super Cup, but the home
team knocked the ball around and played with determination, driven
forward by their Ugandan stars Emmanuel Okwi, Hamis Kizza and Mrisho
Ngasa.
Al Ahly were mostly on the back foot and had to defend in numbers for
most of the game, which sets up an exciting return leg in Cairo next
weekend.
